*** A note from Thomas at the Friends of Mineralogy, VA chapter: UPCOMING GEM SHOWS AND MINERAL EVENTS
The Richmond Club's annual swap will take place this Saturday, November 12th, from 9:00am - 3:00pm! There should be a lot of Virginia minerals for sale at this event. FMVA will have a table with some materials and the NOVA books will be available for purchase.
Reminder: The FM-Pennsylvania Chapter's Annual Symposium will be held on November 12-13 in Lancaster, PA. .
The Northern Virginia Mineral Club will be hosting its annual gem show at George Mason University on November 19th and 20th. This is the first show in several years since COVID so please come by and support the group. FMVA will have all of its tables and exhibits on site.

The next club meeting:
We are going to slowly and carefully resume club activities that include physical proximity.
The club’s rock workshop sessions are happening again! We decided that the shop will be open on the Saturday after each meeting - this is to return to the original rock shop scheduling of it being on the Saturday after the club meeting, whenever the club meeting is held. If more interest is shown, we may go back to opening it twice a month.
